For the sake of Happiness.
“There are many rumors around that Co. Don’t say nonsense, my friend. Nothing happens in 2 seconds except unexpected accidents. The co. is still alive. I have no idea about what people say.” Giovanni answered Antonio and stared at the olives on the plate.
Giana, Antonio’s wife, took a salted black olive from the plate and put it in her mouth “is it from your farm?” She asked Giovanni laughingly.
“Of course it is.” He said confidently. “Didn’t you know?”
“Delicious.” She said while she was chewing the olive.
“Yes. You are right. Nothing happens in 2 seconds. Antonio said to Giovanni.
Giovanni shrugged his shoulders and showed he was not interested in the subject in which he has no share.
“Giana took another olive and said, “I wish I had a farm with many olive trees”.
“I will buy one for you, my dear.” Antonio her husband said.
Giovanni called the waitress. The waitress came to the table.
“Please let us have the menu.”
The waitress brought 4 pcs. menu and gave one to each.
They looked at the menu and the ladies talked together and ordered one bottle of red wine and two salad dishes.
“What about the main dish?” Bella asked Giana”.
“I will suffice with one spaghetti but I am not in a hurry. We can wait.” Gianna said to Bella.
“Good choice, I’ll do the same then.”
“Giovanni and Antonio chose a bottle of Sambuca.”
“I am not very hungry, we can wait for the main dishes,” Antonio said to Giovanni.
After some time the waitress came back to note their order “What about water? Do you want water too?” The waitress asked.
They all said, “Yes please.”
She noted on her paper and then left for the kitchen with the menus in her hand.
“By the way, do you have any Taralli?” Giovanni called the waitress again.
The waitress came back.
“Two Taralli, please. One for ladies and one for us.” Giovanni said.
She noted again and left the place without assessment.
After some seconds Giovanni went to the cashier and talked to her then came back and sat in his place.
“Overdid you again?” Antonio said to Giovanni.
“I invited you, I’ll pay for it too. Don’t forget please, my grandfather’s father and father and father… was the Duke of Florence.``
“Sorry, I had forgotten that.” Antonio said and bent down and laughed.”
“We knew, your ancestors were the Medici but it doesn't mean you should pay the bill by yourself,” Giana, Antonio's wife said.
“And we knew they were the builders of ancient Rome!” Antonio said.
Giovanni began laughing and following them. “And the inventor of Raphael, Leonardo, and Michaelangelo …
After some minutes the waitress came with the wine and Sambuca and some glasses. She put them on the board, “Enjoy it.” She said and went after Tallie.
“By the way, how do you feel when somebody talks about your incredible ancestors?” Giana asked Giovanni and sipped a little of her wine.
“Honestly, I become happy about their good works and angry about their inhumanities.” “Interesting,” Giana said.
“But I am proud of the artists and their masterpieces,” Giovanni said.
Antonio took his hand like a microphone in front of Giovanni's and asked. “I would like to know if you have any program for your olives in the future?”
“Do you mean the olives on the plate?” Giovanni asked and laughed. “If it is, they will be eaten soon.”
“Of course not.” Antonio said.
Giovanni straightened his chest and said. “Yes. I would like to produce a type of olive in two colors. Black and White.”
“Do you mean one tree with two types of olives?” Antonio asked again.
“No. One olive with two colors.”
Bella and Giana began laughing loudly.
“Did you say something to laugh? You see people are laughing at your speech.” Antonio asked.
“Yes. Because they are happy and life is happiness.” Giovanni said.
Bella and Giana began laughing very loudly again.
Antonio took a sip of sambuca and Giovanni took another one too.
Antonio stood up “For the sake of happiness.” He sipped his Sambuca.
The others sipped their glasses and said, “For the sake of happiness.”
“I wish you had your violin with you,” Bella said to Antonio.
“I wish I had one of Stradivari’s violins,” Antonio said.
“Don’t cry, my baby. I’ll afford one for you.” Giana said to her husband.
“Was Antonio Stradivari one of your ancestors?” Giovanni took his hand like a microphone in front of Antonio.
“Yes Of course he was. Didn’t you know?” All laughed.
Giovanni took a glass of Sambuca again and stood up, “We drink for the sake of Antonio Stradivari's soul.”
“And for the sake of Giovanni’s soul,” Antonio said while he had his glass in his hand.
Bella and Giana stood up and shouted, “For the sake of happiness.”
